The announcement comes after Embraer hosted a C-390 Millennium Day event in New Delhi last August to interact with the local industry. Both businesses have pledged to support the ‘Make in India’ campaign. They will now talk with the Air Force about the next steps in the procurement process and create an industrialization strategy.
The president and CEO of Embraer Defense and Security, Joao Bosco da Costa Junior, said, “India's defense and aerospace industries are strong and diverse, and we have selected Mahindra as our partner to work together on the MTA programme. India is a key market for Embraer, and we fully support India’s ambitions for Atmanirbhar Bharat [self-reliant India]. We see this partnership as a symbol of strengthening relations between Brazil and India and a way to foster global south cooperation.”
